I had a great experience here! The owner helped switch to my spare after my tire had popped on my way into Birmingham, then checked my tire pressure, and gave me good advice on where to get new tires, all free of charge. If you are in the area and your car needs any work, I'd recommend this place.

Bobby provided top-tier customer service. The program used for the diagnostic test was really easy to navigate and use, allowing me to see what all was important to be fixed at the time, and what else I could work on later. His shop is much more professional than shops that take advantage of young women who think they have no idea what’s going on with their cars. Definitely will be coming back if I need more work done!

I recently had an experience with my Jeep Grand Cherokee that could have been a disaster but turned into a positive story thanks to a reliable auto repair shop. While traveling from Dothan, AL, my car broke down in Birmingham, AL. The issue turned out to be a faulty water pump and a malfunctioning thermostat. I was far from home and in a difficult situation with my daughters, but this auto repair shop came to the rescue. They were incredibly efficient in getting the necessary parts and completing the repairs. They explained everything clearly, which I appreciated since I’m not very familiar with car mechanics. Within a few hours, my Jeep Grand Cherokee was back on the road, running smoothly, and I was able to continue my journey without further issues. Also the place is so pretty. The restrooms were so clean. They have a coffee machine, free drinks and snacks. I really appreciate it especially in this emergency with the my kids. If you ever find yourself in a tie with car troubles, especially in the Birmingham area, I highly recommend this auto repair shop. Bobby corrected an electric fuel pump problem on my 17 year old van that other garages would not look at. Thanks to Bobby and his crew, I now can drive without the constant worry of vehicle breakdown on my mind. Clean modern shop and all estimates, photos and billing are sent to you with the latest vehicle repair software. This is where you can take your older vehicle as well as the newest model autos. absolutely love this place and plan on going to them from now on! First of all, the shop just looks great, clean and modern and doens't make you feel like you're waiting in a grody shop from 1982. Second, I cannot say how much I appreciate the break down they give you before they start any work - they have a super helpful visual guide of everything they think needs work, why it needs work, and what can happen if you let it go, including pictures of the wear and tear on your vehicle. For someone who doesn't know much about cars and always worries they're being taken advantage of, this is wonderful. Very clear-cut and straightforward. However, not once did I feel like they were trying to push me to make decisions, or that they weren't upfront and direct. Finally, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I hope this reviews convinces you to go to Auto Repair 74!

I had a really good experience here. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you truly pay for what you get. I brought my car in because it was stalling and wanted to check for possible oil or coolant issues, and they did an extremely thorough diagnostic, not just on what I asked about, but the entire car. Everything was done within a few hours, and I received a detailed report with photos, arrows, and circled areas explaining what they found. I didn’t end up getting any repairs done, just diagnostics, but they provided clear quotes and explanations with zero pressure. Bobby (the only person running the shop right now) was incredibly kind, professional, and communicative. Overall, a very positive experience and I’d absolutely recommend if you want thorough, honest work.

My name is Omar Berry, my experience was excellent. The staff was very professional, and despite my appointment being scheduled for 11:30, my vehicle was serviced in less than ten minutes. While I waited, I was offered refreshments, and the establishment was exceptionally clean. Bobby, the receptionist, provided outstanding customer service. I requested photos of the damage to my vehicle’s undercarriage, and the team promptly fulfilled my request and emailed the images to me. There was no charge for this service. Overall, I was very impressed with the efficiency and professionalism displayed throughout my visit.

I took my Toyota in for the 60,000-mile maintenance and brake service, and dropped it off before work. They kept me updated with photos and videos showing exactly what my vehicle needed. I was able to pay online and pick it up after hours, which was super convenient. When I got there, I noticed they had even washed my car, and as a final touch, they left an air freshener inside. It’s such a simple gesture, but it really shows how much they care. Honestly, Auto Repair 74 went way beyond my expectations.
